On June 11, between 6:28 PM and 7:31 PM UTC, Bushel experienced a temporary service disruption that impacted the availability of most of our products and systems. This outage was triggered by an unintended administrative error during routine maintenance that affected our internal secret management system. While we want to assure you that no customer data was lost or exposed at any point, we deeply understand the critical role our platform plays in your daily operations, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disruption this downtime caused.

Our engineering teams worked diligently to restore the system from secure backups, though the recovery process was delayed as the team wasn't able to quickly retrieve the backup decryption key. To ensure this specific scenario does not happen again, we have already implemented strict technical safeguards to prevent accidental system modifications and have increased our infrastructure's resiliency to better tolerate temporary outages of our secret management system. Additionally, we are conducting a comprehensive overhaul of our backup key management processes to ensure immediate access to restoration materials in the future, further strengthening the reliability and stability you expect from Bushel.
